Buttock augmentation is a procedure performed to give more fullness and projection to flattened buttocks. Fat harvested from other body sites can be used to achieve this result. However, part of the fat could be reabsorbed and more fat would have to be injected in the future. Otherwise, soft silicone implant anatomical in shape to the configuration of the buttocks can be inserted through a small incision in the crease between the two buttocks.

A pressure garment is worn over the buttocks and the patient is advised immediate ambulation. Daily activity can resume in about one week. Physical activity and exercise can be resumed in 3 weeks.

Can the implants break?

The implants used from buttock augmentation are made of soft silicone that feels like rubber. They do not contain any gel or liquid like the breast implants. Thus, they cannot break or leak.
