 The procedure is a major surgery but it is usually performed in our surgical facility.

What type of anesthesia is used?

The operation is performed under intravenous sedation and local anesthesia.

Where are the incisions placed?

Depending on the severity of the breast ptosis (drooping) the incisions can be like those described in the breast reduction procedure. If the drooping is moderate the incisions can be just around the nipple with or without a vertical incision below the nipple.  The postoperative care, complications and healing process are comparable to that described previously for breast augmentation and breast reduction.
